Carmen is a songwriter, composer, arranger, and performer based in the Los Angeles area.
Growing up in South Florida, she developed a love for fusion music as she studied an eclectic variety of genres including but not limited to Classical, Jazz, Rock, R&B, Soul, Alternative, Pop, and Funk. Due to her wide variety of genre study in her early musical journey, she now writes music in styles of Contemporary Jazz, Neo-soul, R&B, and Psychedelic Rock with influences of Pink Floyd, Duke Ellington, Pat Metheny, Yebba, Brad Mehldau, Patrice Rushen, Erykah Badu, Robert Glasper, Mac Demarco, Kansas, and more.
A recent graduate of the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, Carmen is working towards achieving a vibrant career full of collaboration in the arts including film, visual arts, composition, arranging, performing, and multiple other creative avenues.
